Party Theme
Casino Night
Felt tables, gold lights, dress code.
Casino night is the rare theme that works equally well for date functions, philanthropy events, and standard weekend parties. The dress code does most of the visual work: dark suits, cocktail dresses, gold and black everywhere.
Practical reminder: actual gambling is regulated and varies by state. Most chapters run "play money" or charity-style tables — check with your IFC and chapter advisor before adding real stakes.
Throwing a casino night
Tables are the centerpiece. Buy a couple of folding poker tables or build felt tops from cheap plywood plus felt fabric.
Lighting: low and warm. Green poker felt + gold accents + amber lights = the whole theme.
Card decks and chip sets — buy more than you think. Lost chips are the norm.
Dress code: black tie or cocktail. Enforce it at the door.
Background music: lounge / jazz playlists set the tone better than party hits in this case.
