Party Theme
Western Party
Cowboy hats, country playlist, hay bales.
Western parties have a built-in advantage in the South: most people already own boots and a cowboy hat. The theme works year-round and pulls a different crowd than most college themes.
Where chapters mess up: half-effort country aesthetic. The good ones go heavy on hay bales, lasso props, and a real country playlist — not just a few cowboy hats at the door.
Throwing a western party
Hay bales as seating, photo props, and barriers. Two outside the entrance sets the tone before anyone walks in.
Décor: rope lassos, wanted posters, sheriff star cutouts on the wall.
Music: country only. Set the playlist before the party and don't let people Aux-cord it into top-40.
Dress code: cowboy hats, denim, boots, flannel. Make it the entry rule.
Drinks: anything brown. Whiskey-coded cocktails carry the theme.
