Snow Party

Indoor blizzard, outdoor warmth.

A snow party is one of the easiest themes to nail visually. White everything, frosted lighting, fake snow on every flat surface, and people in puffer jackets and beanies inside a 70-degree house. The look is more important than realism — the goal is for every photo to feel like a ski lodge.

It works best as a January or February event when the actual weather sells the vibe. Pair it with a hot-drink station and you've got something memorable without a huge production budget.

Throwing a snow party

1

Lock the look first: white sheets, cotton batting on tables, faux-fur throws on couches, white string lights on every wall. A small fog machine running cold-fog liquid throws the whole room over the top.

2

Lighting is everything — kill the overheads and use blue-tinted LEDs or icicle lights. Cold light reads as cold, even at 72 degrees inside.

3

Dress code: ski lodge. Beanies, scarves, puffer vests, snow goggles for the photos. Easier to enforce than most themes because people already own the gear.

4

Drinks: a hot-chocolate station with mugs you don't mind losing pulls double duty as décor.
