Rave

Lasers, fog, and one zone.

LoudDarkLasersFogOne Room

A rave isn't a theme — it's an energy. The chapters that get it right pick one room, kill every overhead, and stack lights, fog, and sound into a single zone. The chapters that miss try to do it whole-house and end up with three half-full rooms.

If you've never built one before, the rule is simple: one space, low light, fog so thick the lasers actually show up, and a speaker setup loud enough to move air at the back of the room.

Throwing a rave

1

Pick one room, ideally the smallest one that fits your crowd. Density is everything.

2

Lighting: a moving-head light or two laser projectors do 80% of the visual work. Strip lighting along the floor catches the fog and looks expensive.

3

Fog: heavier than you think. The fog is what makes lasers visible. A 700–1000W machine in a typical chapter room is the floor.

4

Sound: don't rely on a Bluetooth speaker in a corner. A PA or even a single ION Block Rocker beats most setups people improvise.

5

Dress code: techwear, neon, basic black, sunglasses indoors. Easy on attendees, looks tight in photos.
